  • I have always been passionate about animal husbandry and this is my labor of love as a buisness. It is not my fulltime job, I do this simply because I am passionate about it and the animals I work with. I am not here to make a quick dollar, I am here to spread awareness, ethical standards of care and increase understanding of some truly amazing animals! All of my animals are projects I have worked on or from my breeding animals. I do not buy wholesale and resell animals so I can ensure I am offering healthy, disease free animals and almost always have the lineage to back that up. I also am always happy to help you with any questions related to your animals husbandry even if you did not purchase from us as I am eager to help you be successful with your new pet!

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email, reach out on facebook (ZaZoo) or instagram (zazoos_). We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day. However please note this is not my full time job, I do this as a hobby and passion so certain times I may be slower responding around holidays.

  • Do your research and never be afraid to ask questions! The worst thing you can do is be uneducated about your animals needs and requirements. I have general care sheets, but am happy to provide more species specific information as needed to ensure the best quality for the animals. There is also a bio of a bio on the postings of the animals listed. There are also a ton of great online articles, videos and forums available as well as talking to other hobbyists and breeders. I also have some blog posts where you can find more information in the “Care and Keeping” tab.

  • My show schedule varies greatly based upon the inventory I have since I produce my own animals. Due to online sales and unpredictability of sales at a show, I may not always have enough to vend at a show. I will always have the shows I am vending listed on my homepage and list them on social media. When in doubt, reach out and ask.

  • No—pet dart frogs are not poisonous in captivity. Dart frogs don’t make toxins on their own; in the wild they absorb potent alkaloids (like batrachotoxin) from eating certain ants, mites, and beetles.

In captivity, dart frogs are fed a safe, toxin‑free diet of fruit flies and other non‑toxic insects. Without access to those specific wild prey items, they remain harmless. While wild dart frogs store toxins in their skin glands as a powerful neurotoxin, captive dart frogs pose no risk of poisoning and are safe to keep as pets.

Key takeaway: If you’re considering dart frogs for your terrarium, captive‑bred dart frogs are completely safe to handle and admire. However, dart frogs are not an animal that should be held as they can absorb things through their skin and handling can harm them! Dart frogs are a display animal only.
